“I believe that small actions can have a big impact on other people’s lives. I am training to run the Maine Coast Marathon with an incredible gang of girlfriend runners. We believe in the power of persistence, endurance and reciprocal help to achieve our goals. Please join me to raise awareness support the work that Rain for the Sahel and Sahara (RAIN) does in Niger. Your contribution is essential in fulfilling West African nomadic people’s ambitions for education and enduring livelihoods. Tanamert!” – Susana Castillo Rodriguez
About the Maine Coast Marathon
The Maine Coast Marathon began in 1980 as the Nike Maine Coast Marathon. It was organized and produced by the Marathon Sports Runners Club. The race sold-out several years with 1,000 runners. In 1983, the race was amazing as it produced the fastest marathon time ever run in Maine and had three runners qualify for the US Olympic Marathon Trials. Roland Davide of Rhode Island finished the race that year in 2:15:13. This still holds the record for Maine’s fastest marathon.
